Green Start, Creating a Shared Future: The Africa Integrated Transport and Trade Project Officially Launched
2024.09.14

In the context of unprecedented global changes in the past century, the "Global South," represented by China and Africa, is thriving and profoundly influencing the course of world history.

For many years, China has worked hand in hand with its African brothers and sisters based on the principles of sincerity and mutual trust. The year 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the Republic of the Congo (Congo-Brazzaville). Reflecting on the development of Sino-Congolese relations over the past 60 years, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning summarized it with three key phrases: "like-minded partners, sincere friends built on mutual trust, and staunch supporters."With the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations as a new starting point and our establishment in Congo-Brazzaville as a beginning, we are set to ride the wave of opportunities. We bring not only chartering, container manufacturing, and integrated trade operations but also build a bridge for mutual benefits and win-win development between the two regions.Cooperation emphasizes practicality. After the Spring Festival this year, we launched the "Integrated Transport and Trade" project, with a planned total investment of approximately 700 million RMB. The goal is to create Qingdao's first offshore trade project in the energy sector and the first maritime export project for clean energy from Congo-Brazzaville.

After four months of preliminary research and on-site inspections, we have made a forward-looking strategic decision. Based on rational planning, in the first phase of this project, we will cooperate with China Jingjiang Yatai, the world's second-largest container production company, investing 120 million RMB to produce 200 + 200 units of 40-foot international standard T50 containers. Additionally, we will invest 150 million RMB in a Hong Kong-registered cargo ship to provide transportation services and an international trade transaction settlement platform for the maritime export of liquefied petroleum gas from Congo-Brazzaville.

In the subsequent phases, we plan to delve deeply into energy supply sectors in Africa, including crude oil, LNG, and LPG, as well as modular power supply, conducting cooperation that is tailored to local conditions. As a private enterprise that aligns with government strategies and responds to urban development directions, we strategically position ourselves in the African market. This not only explores the international development path for domestic enterprises through practical efforts but also aligns with the positioning of private economic entities in responding to the country's high-quality initiatives for co-building the "Belt and Road" strategy.
